Heaven Series #18 <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Throne of God\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of all the topics I have covered in this series on Heaven, this one has been the most humbling\u2026 and yet one of the most thrilling as well. When we consider that the Creator of the universe has chosen to settle Himself upon this glorious seat where He looks over the whole earth and the affairs of men\u2026 it is humbling to say the least. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

David tells us in the book of Psalms that God\u2019s throne is eternal and will last \u201cforever and ever\u201d.  He also tells us that righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne, revealing that God\u2019s judgement will be true\u2026 and based on His own character\u2026 in holiness and righteousness\u2026 and ultimately \u201cthrough Jesus Christ\u201d who IS our righteousness. (Rom. 2:16 and 1 Cor. 1:30)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ezekiel saw the throne with the beautiful blue color of the lapis lazuli stone\u2026 He, and then later the apostle John, describe where they saw a glorious and radiant rainbow, the color of a brilliant green emerald, encircling the throne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several of the prophets describe seeing cherubim, angels with four wings, on either side of the throne. Isaiah even saw seraphim, angels with six wings, above the throne calling out Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God Almighty! Heaven and earth are filled with His glory!\u201d Honestly, there are no earthly words which can truly describe this awesome heavenly scene!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sight in front of the throne is spectacular as well. John writes, \u201cIn front of the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal.\u201d Again, he writes, \u201cThen the angel showed me the river of the water of life, as clear as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb. ((Rev. 4:6, Rev. 22:1)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As overwhelming as this awesome sight might appear to us as mere mortals, the author of Hebrews beckons us to \u201capproach God\u2019s throne of grace with confidence\u201d, not timidly and in fear, but rather boldly, in faith, \u201cso that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As God\u2019s children, we now have special access to approach the Father without fear.  And because of what Jesus accomplished on the cross, God sees each one of us as holy and righteous in His Son\u2026 and for this, we are filled with joy and will be forever praising God, as we enjoy our inheritance in Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just one of the wonderful things we have to look forward to is revealed in Rev. 3:21, where Jesus gives us an unbelievably fantastic promise\u2026 \u201cTo the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with Me on My throne<\/strong>\u2026\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I just can\u2019t imagine a more exciting and thrilling experience than sitting with Jesus, the King of Glory, in His throne!… but that is exactly what He promises to those who follow Him in victory!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
