Can we see Heaven before we get there?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scriptures tell us in Hebrews 11, that the patriarchs and matriarchs of the faith had several things in common. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The one I want to focus on here\u2026 is that they were each able to see past whatever this world offered them, and SEE into the future\u2026 a world far richer and greater than this one. The scriptures show that they \u201csaw\u2026 afar off\u201d\u2026 the promises of a better country. One version says, \u201cin the distance\u201d.  It is speaking in terms of time\u2026 possibly their own lifetime\u2026 before they would actually inherit the promised land.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But how could they see it, if it was in the future?. How were they able to SEE HEAVEN?  They saw it with the eyes of faith\u2026 which is simply the \u201cevidence of things\u201d they \u201choped for\u201d. Their faith was all the evidence they needed.  And it is the same us.  We \u201cwalk by faith and not by sight\u201d\u2026 and the day will surely come when we won\u2019t need \u201cfaith\u201d to see it anymore, because we will already be there! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although they each one of these men and women lived in different geographical areas and in different generations of time, one thing that they all knew and confessed was that they were just passing through… They knew that they were just \u201cpilgrims and strangers\u201d in this life. They knew not to set their roots too deep here, because the day would soon come when they would be uprooted, and moving on to their real, true home in heaven… They realized that the future home that God had promised them, was far greater than anything this cursed earth could offer.  As beautiful as it is\u2026 it is still under the original curse, only remotely resembling it\u2019s original beauty and glory. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

God has not abandoned his original plan for mankind to live in peace and joy in paradise.  What God began, He will finish\u2026 and it will be just as the scripture tells us\u2026 beyond our imagination\u2026 and I can imagine a lot!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019d also like to add another common thread of our forefathers\u2026 the PASSION they each possessed for heaven.  The earlier passage goes on to say that \u201cthey were LONGING for a better country… a heavenly one\u201d.  They didn\u2019t just see it afar off\u2026 but they LONGED for it\u2026 much like a lover longs for their sweetheart to return home after an extended journey. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is even a special crown that God will give to those who \u201clong for His appearing\u201d. Let\u2019s open our eyes to see the things which really matter\u2026 the eternal things\u2026 our future home in heaven\u2026 the mountains and streams and meadows of a perfect creation\u2026  the angels\u2026 our loved ones\u2026 and most of all, seeing and embracing the One who paid such a great price so we could have all these things\u2026 our loving Savior Himself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
