Heaven Series #1
“So, why study and learn about heaven?”
Well, there are probably many good answers to this question, and I’ll attempt to provide a few…
* It will create a Passion in us… a hunger and a thirst for this beautiful land of promise. The more we can learn about heaven, the more clearly we can envision it… and desire it and even long for it. Heb. 11:16
* It will surely give us Hope. It is important to understand that hope is always in the future… And faith is always in the present. The more confidence we have in a good future… that things will turn out well for us, the more faith and courage we are able to walk in here in this life. “Faith is the evidence of things hoped for” Heb. 11:1
* It will also give us Understanding and Insight into our eternal home through his written word. God clearly wants us to have a good understanding of heaven with a motivating desire to get there… as well as the desire to “store up treasures” and rewards for spending eternity there. Mat. 6:20
* A good knowledge of heaven will bring Comfort to us concerning our loved ones who have gone on before us… And also give us the assurance of knowing we will see them again. 2 Sam. 12:23
* It will also Encourage and Motivate us to share the message of God’s love and salvation with others, so they too can look forward to God’s promised homeland and heavenly blessings. Jn. 3:16
